Calibration and testing for the evaluation of plywood glue bond performance in accordance with EN 314-1 and EN 314-2

In partnership 9 research institutes and 2 plywood industries across Europe have recently started work on a 1.3 million Euro project co-funded by the EU under their Promoting Competitive and Sustainable Growth Programme.

The 3-year project will examine the glue bond performance of plywood. The project will produce important information on the reproducibility and the accuracy of the evaluation of plywoods glue bond performance for developing a PC based image analysis system and database, which will be installed and evaluated in plywood factories. The work is in support of the EU policy relating to the Construction Product Directive (CPD), mandate M/113, CEN/TC 112, EC 5 and Notified Bodies SG 20.
